منذ عام 2013م، تقدمت كلية الهندسة والبترول – جامعة الكويت بفكرة المسابقة الهندسية للمرحلة الثانوية والتي تشمل المدارس الحكومية والخاصة. وقد قامت بتنفيذ هذه الفكرة وتقديمها للمدارس وأتاحت لهم المشاركة في 9 يناير 2014م.

وتتميز المسابقة بتشجيع وتحفيز طلبة الثانوية قبل المرحلة الجامعية وتعتبر إحدى المبادرات الذكية لرعاية العقول الشابة لغرس مفاهيم علمية وهندسية وبيئية ودعم الأفكار الخلاقة ورعايتها.

تعرف هذه المسابقة طلبة المدارس الثانوية الحكومية والخاصة بدولة الكويت بالعديد من المفاهيم الهندسية وتجهزهم للمرحلة الجامعية من خلال رفع الوعي بمجال الهندسة. وتستهدف المسابقة الطلاب والطالبات من الصف العاشر إلى الصف الثاني عشر.

تنظم المسابقة وتشرف عليها كلية الهندسة والبترول – جامعة الكويت – تحت رعاية أ.د. عايد عطالله سلمان القائم بأعمال عميد الكلية. وتعتبر هذه المسابقة النسخة العاشرة منذ عام 2013م. وسبقتها الأولى تحت عنوان “إدارة النفايات من أجل بيئة أفضل“. ثم تلتها الثانية بعنوان “الإبداع الهندسي لخدمة ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة“، ثم تلتها النسخة الثالثة بعنوان “الهندسة والمجتمع“. واعتمد شعار النسخة الرابعة “الإبداع الهندسي لمجتمع أفضل” ليكون الشعار المعتمد لجميع المسابقات التالية لها.

تنطلق المسابقة في بداية شهر أكتوبر 2022م وتستمر حتى منتصف شهر فبراير 2023م. وسيتم وضع الجدول التفصيلي الكامل للمسابقة قريباً مع موعد فتح باب التسجيل للمسابقة.

وفي ختام المسابقة، سيكون هناك عرض مرئي للفرق المشاركة وحفل تكريم الفرق الفائزة مع تقديم جوائز تشجيعية ودروع تكريمية. وسيتضمن الحفل تكريم الجهات الراعية للمسابقة.

This is the tenth edition of the “College of Engineering and Petroleum – Kuwait University” competition, which was launched in 2013. It is a distinguished competition to encourage and motivate pre-university high school students and it is considered one of the smart initiatives to develop and encourage young minds to learn and train scientific, engineering and environmental concepts and support and nurture creative ideas.

It also introduces students of public and private high schools in the State of Kuwait to many engineering concepts and prepares them for the university stage by raising awareness of the field of engineering. The competition targets male and female students from the tenth to the twelfth grade.

The competition is organized and supervised by the College of Engineering and Petroleum – Kuwait University – under the patronage of the College Dean, Dr. Osama Al-Omair. This competition is considered the eighth edition since 2013. The first edition of the competition was under the title “Waste Management for a Better Environment”. Then, the second one was titled “Engineering Creativity Serving People with Special Needs” followed by the third edition entitled “Engineering and Society.” And the logo of the fourth edition, “Engineering Creativity for a Better Society,” was adopted as the approved logo for all upcoming competitions.
The competition starts at the beginning of October 2022 and continues until mid of February 2023. The detailed full competition schedule will be posted soon.
There will be a visual presentation for the participating teams and a closing ceremony to honor the winning teams, along with the presentation of promotional prizes and honorary shields. The ceremony will include honoring the sponsors of the competition.
